Other terms to keep in mind:

  • All certificate accounts were converted with your same rate and term. Future rollovers will roll into the product that most closely matches the original term if the exact products do not exist.
  • All OnPath accounts that pay dividends do so on the last day of each month. All quarterly dividends will now be paid monthly.
  •  OnPath is proud to offer our members a comprehensive Courtesy Pay and Overdraft Protection program. If you are a checking account holder, you'll be automatically enrolled into Courtesy Pay. However, overdraft coverage for debit card and ATM transactions only applies if you previously opted in with Heritage Bank or if you opt in with OnPath Credit Union.

What to Expect in April 2026

What's staying the same

  • Your paper checks - Your checks and check orders will remain the same. You can use the same ACH number to order new checks.
  • Direct deposits - Paychecks, Social Security, and other deposits will continue as usual.
  • Automatic payments (ACH) - Any scheduled payments (utilities, insurance, subscriptions, etc.) made with routing number and account number will process as expected.
  • Heritage Branch Branches- Most of your Heritage Bank Branches will rebrand as OnPath Credit Union and remain open.

What will change in the future

  • Debit & Credit Cards - Heritage Bank Debit Cards will be replaced with OnPath Credit Union Debit cards. You will need to update any payments via debit card with your new number.
  • Digital Banking - Heritage Bank Clients will have to download the OnPath Mobile app and register as new users. Website logins will move to BeOnPath.org. Bill Payer information will have to be set up again.
  • Website - HeritageBank.org will retire, and all traffic will redirect to BeOnPath.org.
  • Routing Number - The Heritage Bank routing number will change to the OnPath CU routing number 265075087. But don't worry, your checks, direct deposits, ACH withdrawals will keep working through the old Routing number for many months after conversion.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Heritage Bank is now part of the OnPath Credit Union family. This means that soon you will start seeing a transition from the Heritage Bank of St. Tammany brand to OnPath Credit Union. A systems upgrade will happen on 4/1 that will bring some changes to the way you bank with us.
The only Heritage Bank branch that will close is the Slidell branch. This is because OnPath Credit Union has a Slidell branch that is a 3 minute drive down the street on Gause Blvd. Heritage Bank clients may start using the OnPath Slidell branch on 4/2/2026. All other Heritage Bank branches will still be open.
Many great benefits are coming out of this partnership. With OnPath Credit Union, now Heritage Bank clients will be able to use all 17 OnPath branches across Southeast Louisiana. Many of the OnPath products have the same or higher interest rates plus the same smiling faces from Heritage Bank will now be OnPath Team members.
Starting in March you will begin receiving communications via mail and email on behalf of Heritage Bank and OnPath CU. On April 1st all our offices will close as Heritage Bank and will re-open on April 2nd as OnPath Credit Union.
As a not-for-profit cooperative, we’re owned by members like you, which means our profits return to your pocket through better rates and lower fees! You get the best of both worlds: a top-tier digital banking suite and ITMs for easy transactions, paired with the heart of a local institution. We are proud to employ over 250 of your neighbors who live and work right here in our community. At OnPath, we’re big enough to offer the best tech, but local enough to truly know you
While we understand your current account number is familiar, this upgrade requires us to issue you a new account number to enhance security and prevent system duplicates. Your new account number will be mailed to you by the second week of March. Look out for that communication.
Yes! Now is the time to make sure your contact information is up to date so you don’t miss any important mailings or emails.
You don't need to change your direct deposits, automatic payments, or anything you've already set up. Those will all move over to your new number automatically. You will need to set up any news with your new account number.
Yes, you can keep using your current checks! They will work until you run out of them, for many many months after the system upgrade. If you run out of checks and order them through OnPath Credit Union, they'll automatically be printed with your new account number.
Our system upgrades means a brand new mobile app, use of the OnPath website to log into online banking and a new telephone banking system. Specific details on how to log in for the first time will be in the Welcome Guide. You can also visit BeOnPath.org/login to see step by step instructions on how to log in for the first time.
On April 2nd, Heritage Bank clients will be able to download the OnPath app or login via www.BeOnPath.org and register as new users
Yes, you will need to register as a new user. You may try to keep your old username and password by using those. If the username is taken, the system will let you know and then unfortunately you will have to choose a new username. You may choose your old password by adding that as the password in your new online banking account.
Unfortunately, no. No Bill Pay information will transfer over. Please take the time today to download your bills, accounts and amounts for you to re-add them in the new Bill Pay instance at OnPath Credit Union.
Your past transaction history won't move to the new system, but you won't lose your records! We are providing 12 months of e-statements right inside the new app for easy viewing. If you need more than 12 months we will have them safe for a while and available to you upon request.
To download the new app, just follow these simple steps for your device. Since this is part of the merger transition, remember to delete your old banking app first to avoid any confusion! STEP 1: Open your App Store: Head to the Apple App Store (for iPhone) or the Google Play Store (for Android). STEP 2: Search for us: Type "OnPath Mobile" or "OnPath Credit Union" into the search bar. STEP 3: Look for the logo: Find the app featuring our OnPath Credit Union logo and tap "Install" or "Get."
The OnPath app has many features you are used to and love, such as remote deposits, e-statements, and card controls (lock and unlock your debit cards plus alerts). We also offer Zelle, which you can sign up for starting on 4/2, Know Your Score, our credit score builder tool that will also be new to Heritage Bank members.
Your Heritage bank debit card will stop working on 4/1. You will receive a new OnPath debit card before 4/1 that you will activate and start using on 4/2.
Yes, your card will stop working on 4/1. We advise that for that one day, you have cash on hand and try to use it for transactions.
Yes, if you are currently using your Heritage Bank card with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or other payment options, you will need to unlink the Heritage Bank card and re-link it with your new OnPath Mastercard Debit Card.
Unfortunately, no. Since this is a full reissue of the debit card number, you will need to re-enter it wherever you currently use it to pay, including subscriptions, automatic payments, Apple Pay, etc.
You can continue mailing payments to the Heritage Bank address or visit any open branch to pay in person. Starting April 2, you can also pay through OnPath Online Banking or the Mobile App using an internal or external account. You will also be able to use any OnPath ITM to process loan payments. Simply insert your OnPath debit card and PIN at any branch ITM to pay with cash or a check. If you need a hand, just tap "Video Teller" to have a live team member walk you through the process.
We expect all Heritage Bank offices to close on all day Monday April 1st for this systems upgrade. OnPath CU offices will close at noon on Monday April 1st for this upgrade. We will re-open for normal operations on Tuesday April 2nd.
Call us at (985) 652-4990 or visit any Heritage Bank branch location for assistance.
For checking and savings accounts it depends on the product you currently have with Heritage Bank. See our change in terms in our disclosure packet or visit BeOnPath.org to see details on each OnPath product. Your loan interest rates will remain the same.
We have chosen the most similar products that you currently have with Heritage Bank to transition into OnPath Credit Union. For full details please visit BeOnPath.org/transition.
Not at all! In fact, this merger is all about growing together, not slowing down. We are thrilled to welcome the talented Heritage Bank team into the OnPath family, where their local expertise and relationships are the key to our success.
