Splitting a dinner bill, sending money to a sibling or friend to cover your portion of a gift purchase, paying back a coworker, or sending money for any other reason is easy with Zelle®.
Zelle® lets you send and receive money in minutes using just a U.S. mobile number or email address. There is no separate app to download or wallet to transfer money in and out of.
It is fast and convenient. The key is using it the right way.
Zelle® is available directly inside the OnPath Mobile app. Once you are logged in, you can:
If the person you are sending money to is already enrolled with Zelle®, the funds are typically available to them within minutes. If they are not yet enrolled, they will receive instructions on how to register and claim the payment.
Because transactions move quickly, it is important to review everything carefully before hitting send.
Zelle® works best for simple, everyday situations with people you know and trust. Common uses include:
There is no need to carry cash, write checks, or wait for someone to deposit a payment.
Because Zelle® payments are typically processed quickly, taking a few extra seconds to review your information can prevent mistakes.
Before you confirm a payment:
If anything looks off, pause and verify with the person directly. A quick text or call can prevent confusion later.
Mistakes happen. What you can do next depends on the situation.
If the recipient has not yet enrolled with Zelle®, the payment may show as pending. In some cases, you may be able to cancel it through the app before it is claimed.
If the recipient is already enrolled, the money is typically deposited quickly. At that point, it may not be possible to reverse the transaction. If this happens, contact OnPath as soon as possible to discuss your options.
Zelle® is designed for sending money to people you know and trust. It is not intended for paying strangers or making purchases from someone you have never met. Avoid using it for:
If you are unsure, it is better to contact OnPath before sending money.
Using Zelle® safely also means protecting your login information.
If something does not seem right, reach out to OnPath directly instead of responding to a suspicious message.
With Zelle® built into your OnPath Mobile app, you can move money directly from your bank account to the other person’s bank account without transfer fees or needing to fund or cash out a wallet in a separate app. That keeps everything in one place and reduces the number of accounts and logins you have to manage.
